Teaching through movement.
Learning through fun!

Teaching through movement.
Learning through fun!

Imagine if more children didn’t find tackling maths concepts so boring. If, even the most disengaged learners crept out of the side-lines eager to problem solve! At Maths Dance, we help make teaching and learning mathematics fun and exciting through our creative, imaginative, and self-expressive maths through movement sessions – inside and outside classrooms across London.

WHAT IS MATHS DANCE? TAKE A LOOK

“Maths Dance has been a huge success in our school! It is a creative way of working with numbers, and it has brought joy and excitement to the subject, for all! I couldn’t recommend it more highly!”

MEET PANOREA BAKA, MATHS DANCE FOUNDER

“As parents and educators, nobody knows what the future holds for the generations we are raising… What we do know is: thinking outside of the box is going to be crucial. As a mother myself, I know what it’s like to have a real concern for both the child as a whole and for positive educational outcomes that will help them flourish throughout life.

I first discovered what happens when you fuse mathematics and movement in teaching while studying an MA in Maths Education. Being passionate about contemporary dance, I decided to trial explorations in maths and movement as part of my dissertation. It amazed me how quickly children developed confidence in everything from maths concepts to team building, all while experiencing real childhood glee in the classroom!

Maths Dance was born to share this powerful mix of the academic and the arts further, and to allow teachers, parents and children to experience the benefits of embodied learning.”
